Downtown Lima hosting First Friday event for August downtown

LIMA — Downtown Lima will be play host to its First Fridays event from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at Town Square in downtown Lima. This will be the last event of the year.

Cricket Rodriguez, executive director of Downtown Lima, Inc., explained how much of the evening would go.

“We have several events spreading through downtown. Up on North Main Street by Leaf & Lux we are doing a whole event with first response vehicles where you can come and get a hands-on experience with them, we have Captain Doug Beck coming with a firetruck, an up close look with a mounted posse for interaction and pets, Cookies with a Cop featuring Plush Cookies from here in town, and then we are going to have Copper Creek Road (band) at the Square of Art Space Lima. She will also have Shirley’s Popcorn back in Lima for one night only, and she is also offering a sale on artowkr and pottery listed at basement level prices.”

Several businesses will be offering extended hours and free activites for children. There will also be drink sales, so as Rodriguez stated, “Be sure to bring your DORA cups downtown and enjoy the experience.”

The trolley will be up and running to transport visitors.
