FEMA closing Indian Lake recovery center Wednesday

LAKEVIEW — The Federal Emergency Management Agency will close its disaster recovery center in Logan County permanently on Wednesday, FEMA announced.

The center, located at the Indian Lake EMS District Building, 280 N. Oak St., Lakeview, will permanently close at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26. Disaster recovery centers have been open since a March 14 tornado hit the Indian Lake region. It included specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration to help people apply for federal assistance and answer questions.

Ohioans can still call the FEMA helpline 800-621-3362 even after the center closes. They can also visit DisasterAssistance.gov to check on their application or apply online. There’s also a FEMA mobile app.

The deadline for homeowners and renters with underinsured damage or loss in Auglaize, Hancock, Logan and Mercer counties is Monday, July 1.
