Delphos Police Department handles 427 calls in May

DELPHOS — The Delphos Police Department received 427 calls for service in May. Some of the calls they handled included:

Cherry Street at Clay Street, Delphos — Police responded to an altercation May 1.

900 block of Superior Street, Delphos — A domestic violence situation was reported and a 41-year-old female was arrested for domestic violence May 2.

A female spoke to officers about a male who was requesting money and photos from her foster daughter over the internet May 3.

West Clime Street, Delphos — Officers handled a disturbance outside of an establishment May 4.

1000 block of Coletta Way, Delphos — An employee of a business reported someone entered the building and stole a large amount of tools May 6.

A female called the police May 7 saying she believed her daughter was being abused by her boyfriend. A report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review of charges.

500 block of South Franklin Street, Delphos — Officers responded to a dispute between two parents May 8.

A female reported her daughter may have been sexually assaulted by a juvenile male May 9. The case is being investigated by the detective bureau.

24000 block of Lincoln Highway, Delphos — Officers responded to a domestic violence situation May 9.

100 block of East Twelfth Street, Delphos — Police responded to damage to a property May 10.

1000 block of North Main Street, Delphos — Police arrested a juvenile male for domestic violence May 10.

Officers arrested Jatniel Nunez, 27, who had an active warrant out of Van Wert County on May 12. Nunez was transported to the Van Wert County Jail.

A female called the police and said her daughter was sneaking out of the house to meet an adult male May 12. The juvenile is now facing charges.

A male called the police May 12 and said another male was beating on his door with a baseball bat.

800 block of West Fifth Street, Delphos — An employee at a business reported a new semi-trailer was stolen from a property May 13.

24000 block of Lincoln Highway, Delphos — Officers arrested Michael Whittaker, of Lima, for a parole violation May 15.

A male told police he experienced a road rage incident May 15. A female tried to hit his car with hers and after stopping, the female pushed him.

24000 block of Lincoln Highway, Delphos — Officers responded to a report of a male panhandling and trying to start fights May 16.

1000 block of East Fifth Street, Delphos — Officers took a report from a male who said fuel was siphoned from his semi’s fuel tank May 17.

Officers received a call from a nurse at Blanchard Valley Hospital on May 17 for an infant with severe injuries. The baby lived with his mother and her boyfriend on Fort Jennings Road. An investigation is ongoing in the detective bureau and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle May 18 and found drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamines, and suspected heroin. A female was released from the scene but may face charges. Justin Diltz, of Delphos, was issued a summons to appear in court for possession of drug paraphernalia and may face additional charges once test results are returned.

100 block of East Thirteenth Street, Delphos — Police handled a domestic disturbance May 21.

1000 block of North Canal Street, Delphos — Officers handled a breaking and entering complaint where items were stolen from a vacant residence May 21. The incident is being investigated by the detective bureau.

400 block of South Franklin Street, Delphos — A female made a report of a bicycle being stolen from her property May 22.

Officers were notified of damage done to headstones in Westside Cemetery May 24.

700 block of West Clime Street, Delphos — Officers responded to two suspicious males May 25 and found them to be in possession of suspected methamphetamines, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. One male, Nathan Youngpeter, received a summons to appear in court. Both may face additional charges once test results are returned.

700 block of East Fifth Street, Delphos — A male reported being assaulted by another male who fled the scene May 27.

1000 block of Gressel Drive, Delphos — Officers responded to an unresponsive male. The male was treated by Delphos EMS and was issued a summons to appear in court for disorderly conduct by intoxication due to an overdose.
