Meijer now accepting SNAP benefits for mobile orders

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer has announced that it is expanding access to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits for families by accepting SNAP on its mobile app. This will allow shoppers to purchase eligible items through the app and pay using SNAP benefits.

Other benefits for SNAP participants include a 10 percent discount on qualifying produce purchases thanks to a 2022 waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and access to home delivery and store pickup options for mobile SNAP purchases. The retailer is also offering 40 percent off any brand or size of 1-percent or skim milk through the Healthy Fluid Milk Incentives project.

“By accepting SNAP benefits on the Meijer app, we are providing participants with more options and flexibility to shop for the groceries they need and want while also reducing barriers that may prevent them from eating well,” Meijer vice-president for grocery Calli Schmid said in a statement.
