Elida school board dismisses complaint against superintendent

ELIDA — The Elida schools Board of Education dismissed a complaint filed by a parent against Superintendent Joel Mengerink Tuesday citing a lack of evidence.

Board members met with the parent who filed the complaint in executive session on Jan. 24.

A resolution adopted Tuesday states that the parent “failed to provide adequate evidence to support her complaint” and that no further action from the board is necessary.

The motion passed unanimously with Jaired Birks abstaining due to his absence during the initial hearing.
