Letter: Quick thoughts about some popular opinions

Here’s a novel idea for all the protesters rooting for Hamas: Wy don’t you volunteer to replace, one for one, the hostages that they took, then you could actually do something to eliminate the Jewish faith. Oh, I’m sorry, that might require some sacrifice on your part; silly me.

Here’s another idea, if you still want student loan forgiveness, that can be achieved with three or four years of military service for this country. Oh, what is the matter with me, that also would require sacrifice. They might miss a few spring breaks.

I was halfway through a tour of Vietnam before I had the right to vote, so the idea of giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants to me is a slap in the face.

As far as banning a candidate to be on the ballot, popular or not, and then spout off about the end of democracy is the most insane thing I think I’ve ever heard of. What if every state that voted Republican in 2020 went the other way? Would that be Democratic?

Finally, as far as reparations are concerned, I think we should start with the Native Americans. That’s all for now. My blood pressure is rising, right along with everything else. Don’t forget your vote counts; every vote counts, or does it?
