Letter: Time to focus on giving thanks, helping others

I am writing this letter with the hope that everyone is done sending in their opinions on the upcoming election. Now take a deep breath and remember what great day is coming next.

No, not Christmas. Thanksgiving. As soon as Halloween was over, there were commercials on about a $10 or $50 gizmo that you could buy for your children that will most likely break or be outdated in a few months. There’s not one business with an ad to say, “Happy Thanksgiving” to you and yours.

Break it down into two words, please. “Happy” and “Giving”.

Hug someone you love, or set an extra plate at your table for a friend. Give $10 to the West Ohio Food Bank. Be thankful for a warm smile. Give a warm smile!

Stop worrying about the wealthy politicians for a while, and help a neighbor. After all, we have to take care of each other, and it starts in your own backyard or home. It’s easy and fun to be nice. My wish is for everyone to be warm and to have sated bellies. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
