Dunlap on paid leave for Wapak incident

WAPAKONETA — A Lima police officer arrested in Wapakoneta Sunday has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of a criminal investigation.

Tyler Dunlap, 28, was charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and misconduct at an emergency in Wapakoneta after he reportedly interfered with EMS efforts to provide medical aid to a woman Sunday evening, according to court records and news reports.

Dunlap, who was off duty at the time of the incident, was then placed on administrative leave by the Lima Police Department Monday, according to his personnel file.

Court records show Dunlap was arraigned in Wapakoneta Municipal Court Tuesday and released from Auglaize County Jail on his own recognizance. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. July 5 in municipal court.
