SEBEWAING, Mich. — The Lima Locos saw their 4-3 lead turn into a 13-4 deficit in their 19-7 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League loss Saturday against the Sugar Beets.
Lima recovered from being down 3-0 with a run in the third and three more in fourth. The Sugar Beets then plated 10 runs in the fourth, one each in the fifth, sixth and seven and three more in the eighth.
Jaxon Shirley (Danville Area CC) had two hits, including a home run, and three RBI and Michael Diffley (Arizona Christian), Anthony Amicangelo (Johnson County CC) and Christian Waltman (Alabama-Birmingham) each had a single and a double for Lima. Diffley also had two RBI and Amicangelo knocked in a run.
The Locos moved to 4-3 on the season and the Sugar Beets are 5-7. Lima and the Sugar Beets are scheduled to play at 7:05 tonight at Simmons Field.
