Road construction and maintenance projects

ALLEN COUNTY

Interstate 75 between state Route 81 to just north of Fourth Street will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for repair of pavement under warranty. Work could begin as soon as Oct. 9, likely in the southbound direction first and then switch to the northbound side. The repair is expected to continue for approximately three weeks. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.

State Route 309 westbound (Elida Road) between Robb Avenue and Homeward Avenue will be reduced to one lane beginning October 16 for installation of a sidewalk. Work will occur during daytime hours only and will take place for approximately two weeks. No lane restrictions will remain during overnight hours. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen and Hancock County maintenance garages.

The following locations will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage:

State Route 81 from Kemp Road to the Auglaize County line

State Route 309, east of Lima, from the Allen County Fairgrounds to the Hardin County line

State Route 115 pavement repair and resurfacing from state Route 65 to the Putnam County line is now complete.

Interstate 75, and also Bentley Road and Napoleon Road will be affected during bridge deck replacements on Napoleon Road over Interstate 75, Beaverdam, and Bentley Road over Interstate 75, Bluffton. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge, Sidney. The following are current impacts related to the project:

Napoleon Road

Napoleon Road bridge over I-75 closed May 22 and will remain closed until late fall.

Traffic detoured onto Sugar Creek Road, Swaney Road and Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to Napoleon Road.

The northbound exit ramp from Interstate 75 to Napoleon Road closed May 30 until late fall.

Traffic detoured north on Interstate 75, east on Lincoln Highway (state Route 696), south on Swaney Road and west on Sugar Creek Road back to Napoleon Road; or west onto Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to S. West Street in Beaverdam.

The entrance ramp to Interstate 75 southbound from Napoleon Road will remain open

Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 wishing to access state Route 696 are advised to do so via exit 135 (state Route 696/U.S. 30) at Beaverdam. No access to state Route 696 from Interstate 75 northbound at the Napoleon Road exit will be available.

Bentley Road (exit 140)

Two bridges on Bentley Road at exit 140 (one over Interstate 75 and one over the railroad north of Interstate 75) closed June 5 until late fall.

Both the southbound entrance and exit ramps at Bentley Road also closed on June 5 until late October.

Interstate 75 northbound traffic will be detoured to the state Route 103 (exit 142) interchange back to Bentley Road.

Interstate 75 southbound traffic is advised to access Bentley Road via the state Route 103 interchange (exit 142) and follow state Route 103 through Bluffton back to Bentley Road.

The northbound ramps at the interchange remain open; however, left turns onto Bentley Road from northbound Interstate 75 are not permitted.

Interstate 75

Interstate 75 both northbound and southbound will be periodically reduced to one lane at times beneath both the Napoleon Road and Bentley Road bridge structures during certain operations related to construction.

Lane closures will occur sporadically and are expected to occur mostly during daytime hours but some nighttime closures may occur.

AUGLAIZE COUNTY

State Route 66 between Mason Road and Dirksen Road, Daily lane closures September 27th – October 31st between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

State Route 219 between State Street and Taylor Road, Daily lane closures September 27th – October 31st between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

I-75 near State Route 219, Daily lane closures October 10th – 13th between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

State Route 29 between Cisco Road and West Russell Road, Shoulder closures August 7th – November 17th. *There could be intermittent lane closures in this area between 7 am and 4 pm.

State Route 66 between Enterprise Drive and Greenback Road, ROAD CLOSURE July 10th – October 13th. The official detour is: State Route 47 to I-75 to State Route 29 to State Route 705

HARDIN COUNTY

State Route 117 just south of Roundhead has been rescheduled to close Oct. 25 for approximately three weeks for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 235 and U.S. 33 back to state Route 117. Work is being performed by VTF, Celina.

Paving on the following routes is complete with minor finish work continuing. Little impact to traffic is expected. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton:

U.S. 68 in the village of Dunkirk from the south corporation limit to Washington Street.

State Route 235 from state Route 117 to state Route 309.

State Route 235 from the north corporation limit of Ada to the Hancock County line.

State Route 31 between township Road 265 and state Route 273, north of Mount Victory, closed Oct. 2 for approximately 14 days during bridge repair work over Painter Creek just south of township Road 206, and a bridge over Wolf Creek north of township Road 265. Traffic detoured onto state Route 292 and state Route 273 back to state Route 31. Once the route reopens to traffic, work on the project will continue until late fall. Work is being performed by Crossroads Construction, Cambridge.

State Route 235 between county Road 110 and township Road 120, south of Alger, closed Sept. 25 for approximately three weeks for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 309 to U.S. 68/state Route 67 to state Route 67 back to state Route 235. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.

HANCOCK COUNTY

Pavement repairs will take place at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage:

State Route 330 from Vanlue to state Route 568

State Route 235 between county Road 313 to the Wood County

State Route 568 just west of county Road 248, east of Findlay

State Route 186/state Route 235 overlap, in the village of McComb, closed Oct. 4 for approximately three days for a railroad crossing repair. State Route 186 traffic will be detoured onto state Route 613, Todd Street/township Road 235, township Road 97/state Route 235 back to state Route 186. State Route 235 traffic will be detoured onto state Route 613, Todd Street/township Road 235 and township Road 97 back to state Route 235. Work is being performed by Roadsafe Traffic Systems.

Interstate 75 northbound just north of state Route 103, Bluffton, will have reduced-width lanes through the work zone for replacement of curb and guardrail. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained the majority of time, but some intermittent lane closures will occur during daytime and nighttime hours. The project will continue until late October. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge, Sidney.

State Route 235 from the Hardin County line to county Road 304 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

State Route 12 just east of Benton Ridge is now open following a bridge deck repair. Some restrictions will occur during finish work. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.

Resurfacing of the following routes within the city of Findlay is essentially complete with little effect to traffic expected. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Old Fort.

State Route 37 from Lincoln Avenue to Blanchard Avenue

State Route 568 from Main Street to Beech Avenue

U.S. 68 installation of cable barrier in the median from the Findlay airport to Eagle Creek, south of Findlay, and installation of overhead lighting and the removal of the caution flasher at Western Avenue is complete. Some minor work related to the lighting remains but little impact to traffic is expected. Work is being performed by Lake Erie Construction, Norwalk.

PUTNAM COUNTY

The following routes will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for cleaning of drainage structures. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage:

State Route 65 from Ottawa to Leipsic

State Route 109 from Ottawa to the Henry County Line

State Route 613 from state Route 634 to the Hancock County Line

State Route 190 between Fort Jennings and U.S. 224 will close Oct. 9 for approximately one month during pavement repair. Access to residences will be maintained during the closure. Resurfacing of the route will follow pavement repairs. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

SHELBY COUNTY

State Route 705 between McClure Road and North Kuther Road, ROAD CLOSURE October 16th – 19th. The official detour is: State Route 29 to State Route 119 to State Route 66

VAN WERT

State Route 49 between Wren and Willshire will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

State Route 709 between Jonestown Road and Venedocia Street/Marys Road, west of Venedocia, will close Oct. 9 for approximately 14 days for bridge repair at two locations. Traffic detoured onto state Route 116, state Route 81 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 81. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.

U.S. 30, both eastbound and westbound, is restricted to one lane through the work zone at the following locations for projects which will repair the pavement and joints, improve drainage and resurface the route. The project will complete in October. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay:

From just east of township Road 127 to just east of county Road 185

From U.S. 224 to near the Indiana state line

Nighttime paving is under way and will continue for two weeks with traffic reduced to one lane through the work zone.

The eastbound and westbound rest areas on U.S. 30 west of Van Wert are now open following repair and resurfacing of the entrances and exits.

The truck weigh station closed Sept. 21 for repair and resurfacing of the entrance and exit, parking lot and sidewalk. The station may open in approximately one week.

The ramps at the U.S. 224 interchange with U.S. 30 will be affected by the project as follows:

The exit ramp from U.S. 30 westbound to U.S. 224 and the entrance ramp from U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound closed Sept. 21 for 21 days.

U.S. 30 westbound to U.S. 224 traffic detoured onto U.S. 30 westbound to state Route 49 back to U.S. 224.

U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound traffic detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound to U.S. 127 back to U.S. 30 westbound.

The ramps on the south side of the interchange will remain open.

All ramps at the interchange will be resurfaced.
