Kalida took top team honors at the Delphos Country Club Invitational and Spencerville’s Gavin Harmon was the top medalist after shooting a tournament low 75.

Kalida finished with a 328, followed by Spencerville with a 342 and Delphos St. John’s with a 353.

Kalida’s Josh Klausing was second with an 81 followed by Spencerville’s Ethan Harmon with an 81. Rounding out the top six where three Kalida linksters that included Christian Nartker with an 82, Josh Recker with an 82 ad Luke Erhart with a 83. Delphos St. John’s Grant Csukker was seventh with an 84.

Elida 6, LCC 2

Elida’s Jency Jenkins scored twice and Jaydon Hollstein, Bella Wallace, Cienna Kuhn and Brooke Reese all scored goals.

Pioneer Days Invitational

Liberty-Benton 2, Delphos St. John’s 1

Liberty-Benton captured the Pioneer Invitational title after defeating Delphos St. Johns 21-25, 28-26, 25-19 in the championship game. In the final match, Delphos St. John’s got 21 kills from Madi Ellis and 22 digs and 10 kills from Ellie Csukker and 14 assists. Erika Moenter had 18 assists.

Minster 3, Celina 2

Minster won with scores of 23-25, 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-8

Minster’s Paige Thobe had 15 kills and Danielle Barhorst had 13 kills and 26 digs. Brooke Wolf had 45 assists.

Waynesfield-Goshen 3, Vanlue 2

Waynesfield-Goshen won by scores of 25-14, 15-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-6

Waynesfield-Goshen’s Cydney Roberts has 33 assists, 1 kill, 9 digs and 1 ace, and Aubrey Biederman had 20 kills and 15 digs. Madison Crumrine recorded 12 digs, 4 aces and 1 assist and Cassidy Craig had 18 kills, 5 digs and 1 ace.

Waynesfield-Goshen improves to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in NWCC play.

Ottawa-Glandorf 2, Napolean 0

Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Wauson 25-17, 25-27, 25-7.

Carly Alt had 14 kills, Taylor Alt recorded 13 kills and four aces and Erica Annesser had 12 kills. Brooke Kleman had 35 assists and 29 digs. Kendra Kahle had three aces.

Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Napolean 25-7, 25-22.

Erica Annesser had 1o kills and Kendra Kahle had 16 assists. Brooke Kleman had 27 digs.

Boys Soccer

Bluffton 2, Bath 1

Bluffon’s Luke Young netted the Pirates first goal. In the second half Bath’s Luchini evened things at 1-1 at the 53rd minute. Ten minutes later Pirate Noah Fredritz left footed a perfect ball into the upper left frame for the final score. The Wildcats had two shots on goal and their keeper Dylan Mohr had seven saves. For the Pirates, Dakota Clymer had two saves and the team had 10 shots on goal.

ONU runners place seventh

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women’s cross country team posted a solid seventh-place finish at the 23-team Calvin (Mich.) Invite on Saturday morning at the Calvin Cross Country Course.

The Polar Bears (24-6 overall) finished with 197 points.

For the second consecutive week, junior Ashlie Baumann ( Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson ) led ONU across the finish line in a caeer-best time.

ONU men take third

The No. 17-ranked Ohio Northern men’s cross country team posted an impressive third-place finish at the 22-team Calvin (Mich.) Invite on Saturday morning at the Calvin Cross Country Course.

The Polar Bears (26-2 overall) finished with 116 points, trailing only No. 15-ranked Calvin (Mich.) with 32 points and No. 2-ranked (Division II) Grand Valley State (Mich.) with 109 points. ONU was second of eight NCAA Division II teams.

For the second consecutive week, junior Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls), senior Bobby Borger (Perrysburg), senior Sam Boyd (Killbuck/West Holmes) posted top-20 finishes for ONU.

ONU men’s soccer victorious

ADA — The Ohio Northern men’s soccer team claimed the annual ONU Invitational title on Saturday afternoon as it downed Thomas More (Ky.) 3-0 at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-1-1 overall with the victory, while the Saints drop to 2-2-0.

Senior Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highlands), junior Joseph Schulte (Copley), and freshman Zachary Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Kamiakin) led the way for Northern offensively, scoring a goal apiece.

Junior Anthony DeNoi (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and senior J.J. Fortner (Maumee) each added assists for Northern.
