ARCHERY

Allen County Archers

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, have monthly shoots planned. A traditional shoot is held the third Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For details, call Neil Wallace at 567-825-7109.

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, will be holding 30 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday each month beginning in March and through September. These are open to al equipment.

Columbus Grove

The Columbus Grove Archery Club is playing host to an indoor traditional shoot Tuesday evenings through the spring. Starting times are 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. For more information call Tom Frick at 419-384-3033.

BASEBALL

Lima

Bath baseball is having there annual “best of the northwest” youth baseball tournament on June 8-10th. This is a school team tournament (all kids must be from the same school district). Twelve teams accepted for each division (first 12 teams paid in each division). There will be a 12u, 10u and 8u coach pitch division. The cost for the 12u & 10u division will be $250 with a three-game guarantee. The cost for the 8u coach pitch division will be $200 with a three-game guarantee. Delphos

The ninth annual Nathan Miller Memorial Baseball Tournament will be June 1-3 at the Delphos Stadium Park. The tournament is a 16-20 team tournament for boys age 11-12 years old (age cutoff is March 1). The tournament will be pool play with a three-game guarantee. Players must be from the same school district. Cost is $175. Deadline to enter is May 11. For more information contact Sam Miller at 567-825-8631.

BASKETBALL

Lima

Team 419 boys & girls basketball organization will be holding tryouts for the following teams this spring and summer. Tryouts for girls currently in 8th,9th and 10th grade will be March 11 from 1-2:30pm at Bath Elementary. Tryouts for boys currently in 9th & 10th grade will be March 18th from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Bath Elementary. Attica

The fourth annual Beast from the East tournament will be held March 10-11 at Seneca East in Attica. The tournament will be a three-game guarantee and school teams are welcome. Individual awards will be given to the top two teams in each grated. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Seneca East schools. Sign up at bestbasketball.net.

Delphos

The Delphos Jefferson boys’ basketball and baseball staffs have scheduled a third-, fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade tournament for boys March 16 to 18 (Friday to Sunday) at Delphos Jefferson Schools. There will be separate divisions for each grade level. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of three games. Entry fee for this event is $125. Bath Township

The 15th annual Bath Boys 5th & 6th Grade Basketball Tournament is March 17-18. Entry fee is $125 per team with Saturday pool play and single elimination tournament Sunday. Maximum 24 teams per grade. Please call Mike Frey at 419-234-2400 or email at [email protected] to register.

Elida

The District 8 boys and girls high school all-star games will be played March 26 and 27 at the Elida Fieldhouse.

The girls games will be March 26 with the Division I-II-III game at 6:30 p.m. and the Division IV game at 7:30 p.m. The D-I-II-III boys game will be at 6:30 p.m. and the D-IV encounter is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 27. Admission will be $4 for adults and $2 for students.

FOOTBALL

Lima

Registration is underway for the Lima YMCA Spring Flag Football League for 6-8 years old until March 23. The fee is $25 for YMCA members and $50 for non members.

GOLF

Lima

The 2018 Lima City Golf Men’s Tournament will take place June 20-24 at courses throughout the Lima area. The tournament will open June 20 for the Senior Flights and Open Flight qualifying rounds Thursday, June 21, begins the Championship Flight with two rounds of play. The Senior Flights and Open Flights will begin match play. Final arrangements are still being made with the area courses for scheduling purposes with those details being released at a later time. HORSESHOES

Lima

The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C Street, have openings in leagues and doubles.

PICKLEBALL

Lima

Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima

The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday (appointment only). Free for YMCA members and $3 per visit for nonmembers or $20 per month for non members (unlimited play). Individuals can register online at limaymca.net.

SHOOTING

Lima Sabres

The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice and League is 4 p.m. weekly. Junior Wednesday morning trap practice is 9 a.m. to noon weekly, weather permitting. For additional information, go to limasabres.com or visit on Facebook.

Continental

The trapshoot at the Continental Conservation Club will be holding a Canned Beef and Pork Loins Shoot on Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m. Practice and still target shooting starts at 11:30 a.m.

RUN/WALK

Lima

The Lima YMCA will be holding a Walk With A Doc event in Room 305 at 9 a.m. March 17. The event is free. A doctor will give a brief presentation on a health topic and then leads participants on a walk at their own pace. March’s walk will be led by Dr. Rhonda Medina. Medina is an obstetrics & gynecology specialist in Lima and has been practicing for 22 years. She graduated from Wayne State University in 1996 and specializes in obstetrics & gynecology.

SOCCER

Lima

The Lima YMCA is holding registration for the spring soccer league for individuals 4-years old to sixth grade. Registration will go until March 23 and the fee is $25 for members and $50 for non members.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING/FITNESS

Lima

Registration for the 20th annual Joey Simpson bench press challenge (raw meet) is being conducted until April 23 for the meet to be held at the Lima YMCA at 11 a.m. April 28. The fee is $30 for individuals ($15 each additional division) and $40 for a team.
