Lima Senior collects third straight win

TOLEDO — The Lima Senior girls basketball team collected its third straight win by downing Toledo St. Ursula 38-25 in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference clash Tuesday night.

Lima Senior’s Nakiya Sigman scored a game-high 16 points.

The Spartans even their record at 10-10 and 5-7 in the TRAC. St. Ursula falls to 0-12 in the conference and 0-17 on the season.

Botkins 64, Perry 25

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Botkins’ Lane Paige scored 24 points and teammate Sarah Bergman added 20 in the Trojans’ 64-25 win over Perry Monday night in a non league affair. For Perry,

O-G boys ranked No. 2

COLUMBUS —Ottawa-Glandorf (17-0) retains its No. 2 ranking in the Division III the Associated Press high school boys basketball poll released Monday. In Division II, Elida remains in the top 10 at No. 9 with a 15-2 mark.

In Division IV, Fort Loramie comes in at No. 2 with St. Henry at No. 5. Pandora-Gilboa is ranked No. 14.

For the girls, Ottoville is ranked No. 2 in Division IV with Minster coming in at No. 5 and Midwest Athletic Conference rivals Ft. Recovery ranked No. 7.

Ottawa-Glandorf is at No. 10 in Division III. Versailles is the top ranked team in Division III with LIberty-Benton coming in at No. 7 with a 17-1 mark.

Bruns honored

ADA — For the third time this season, junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The junior averaged 27.5 points per game in ONU’s 2-0 week that featured victories over Baldwin Wallace and Muskingum.

Bruns posted 29 points and six rebounds in the overtime win over Baldwin Wallace and followed that performance up with a 28-point and 14-rebound effort in an 82-69 win at Muskingum.

He was a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line, was 4-of 9 from 3-point range and shot .559 from the floor in the two wins.

The junior currently ranks eighth nationally with 25.4 points per contest and is tied for second nationally with 59 blocked shots.
