All-Ohio high school Division II, III football teams revealed

COLUMBUS — Celina’s Kole Murlin received first-team All-Ohio honors in Division III and other area players received All-Ohio accolades after the Division II and III football All-Ohio teams were announced Tuesday by a statewide media panel.

Murlin, Western Buckeye League defensive back of the year, recorded 102 tackles, five sacks and 17 tackles for loss.

Murlin’s teammate, Seth Huston, an offensive lineman, received honorable mention honors.

Elida signal caller Isaac McAdams was tabbed for the second team. In 10 regular season games, the Bulldog junior, who was the WBL offensive back of the year, threw for 2,407 yards on 202-of-324 passing (62.3 percent) with 26 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He also rushed for 1,120 yards and 12 TDs. He led the Bulldogs to an 8-3 overall record, 7-2 in the WBL and tied for second place with Celina.

In Division II, Lima Senior receiver Keaton Upshaw, who had 39 catches for 565 yards and four touchdowns, was a second team All-Ohio choice and teammate Kevontae Tyson was an honorable mention selection.

The teams were selected by members of the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association, most of whom were voters for the former Associated Press All-Ohio teams. The Associated Press no longer coordinates postseason honors for high school sports.

On Sunday, the Division VI and VII All-Ohio teams were announced. On Monday, the Division IV and V All-Ohio teams were announced. The Division I All-Ohio team and the Ohio Mr. Football Award will be announced Wednesday.
