Belcher fires low round at junior tourney

OTTAWA — Aaron Belcher shot a 3-over 74 for the boys 16-18 title and the low 18-hole round of the tourney at Tuesday’s Union Bank Open held at Pike Run Golf Club.

Jeffrey Knueve made an eagle to win a playoff for second place against Derek Klausing, Britton Hensel and Sam Reed after each shot a 76. Adam Gerker was the boys 14-15 winner with a 76. Austin Radcliff defeated Christian Nartker in a playoff for second after each shot an 81.

Mariah Moon shot an 82 for the girls 16-18 crown, one shot better than runner-up Jennifer Mitchell.

Britton Hall shot a 3-over 38 to win the nine-hole boys 12-13 competition. Carson Harmon was second with a 41. The girls 15 and under winner was Erin Mulcahy with a 42. Grace Miller defeated Ellen Naumann in a playoff for second after both finished with 44s.
