Six Locos hitters have two hits in win at Galion

GALION — The Lima Locos started slowly but once they got their offense going, the result was a big 11-2 win over the Galion Graders on Monday night.

David Chabut, Logan Quimuyog, Matt Smithwick, Jacob Barnwell, Ross Adolph and Daino Deas II all had two hits for the Locos and Jared Nixon and Adolph both had home runs. On the night, Lima had 15 hits.

The Locos trailed 1-0 after two innings before they tied the game 1-1 in the top of the third inning. a three-run fourth inning, followed by four more runs in the sixth inning put them in total control of the game.

Connor Curlis got the win with a complete game. He struck out seven, walked two, allowed seven hits and the only runs Galion got were unearned. Curlis is 3-0 with a 0.88 earned run average this summer.

The Locos lead the North Division of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League with an 11-3 record. Galion is last in the division with a 4-11 record.
