Ottawa wins two in Legion baseball tourney

CHILLICOTHE —The Fighting 63rd opened the Jadwin Memorial Tournament with 13-3 and 5-3 Friday victories against Great Lakes Post 743 and Chillicothe Post 757 respectively.

Against Great Lakes, winning pitcher Josiah Shoemaker (Lima Senior) threw six innings, allowing two earned runs, seven hits and a walk while striking out four. Austin Klausing (Kalida) had two hits, including a double, and four RBI, Colby Clifton (Crestview) had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI, Jackson Lammers (Miller City) had two hits, including a triple, Ryan Gossard (Bath), Ryan McCracken (Van Wert) and Brayden Sautter (Ada) each had two hits and two RBI and Brady Laudick had two hits also for Ottawa.

Against Chillicothe, winning pitcher Jackson Lammers (Miller City) allowed eight hits and three walks while striking out four in throwing a seven-inning complete game. Laudick had two hits, including a double, and an RBI and Corbin Niese (Miller City) doubled in a run also for Ottawa.

The Fighting 63rd are next scheduled to play at 9 a.m. today against Portsmouth Post 23.
