Ottawa edges Napoleon in Legion baseball

OTTAWA — The Fighting 63rd edged Napoleon 6-5 on Wednesday night in an American Legion baseball game that saw five lead changes.

Brayden Sautter (Ada) knocked in Ryan McCracken (Van Wert) with the winning run with a single in the bottom of the eighth.

Sautter finished with two hits as did teammate Colby Clifton (Crestview) who also had two RBI. Austin Swift (Kalida) tripled for Ottawa

The Fighting 63rd’s Noah Howell (Temple Christian) allowed no earned runs, two hits and no walks in three innings of relief. Jackson Lammers (Miller City) allowed no runs to Napoleon in the top of the ninth.

Ottawa next plays at 6:30 tonight at home against Findlay.
