LIMA — A kitchen fire caused $4,000 in damage but injured no one Monday.
The 5:04 p.m. fire at 3046 N. McDonel St. started when the resident was cooking with grease on the stove. The grease caught fire, said Lt. Lee Rosengarten, of the American Township Fire Department.
Damage was limited to the kitchen with smoke throughout the house, Rosengarten said.
The home is owned by the Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority, according to Allen County Auditor records.
