Man gets new trial date in crash that killed motorcyclist

LIMA — A man accused of driving a car that ran into a motorcyclist and killed him was given a new trial date of Feb. 9 after he waived his right to a speedy trial Monday.

Robert Catlett III, 31, of 435 E. McKibben St., is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, both felonies, and one count of failure to stop after an accident, also a felony, in the death of Aaron Ehrnsberger, 27, following a crash May 31 on Allentown Road near the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue.

An eastbound car turned in front of Ehrnsberger’s motorcycle.

Judge Jeffrey Reed of Allen County Common Pleas Court also scheduled a pretrial for Jan. 4.
