Ada police investigating possible meth lab

ADA — An Ada man who was arrested for domestic violence during the weekend may also be facing drug charges.

At about 11:15 a.m. Saturday, the Ada Police Department responded to 415 N. Main St. on a complaint of domestic violence. While investigating, officers were advised of an unknown substance that was being produced by a man within the apartment. Police identified the man as 31-year-old Rodrick Stevens, a former Florida resident who was living in Ada.

Officers discovered items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamines and quickly secured the home, a news release from the Ada Police Department reported. The Ada Liberty Fire Department was called to standby while officers also contacted the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for its assistance in processing the scene and testing the unknown substances.

Substances recovered at the scene were sent to the BCI Lab in Bowling Green for further testing.

Stevens was charged with domestic violence and jailed Saturday afternoon.
