Oct. 27

Kurt Sahloff was appointed as a member of the Putnam County Board of Elections to a term ending Feb. 28, 2017.

Oct. 29

A motion to modify the bond for Nirmal Singh was overruled. Singh, 54, of 8032 East Willow Run, Ottawa, is charged with five counts rape, five counts sexual battery and theft of a credit card. He had been placed on a $250,000 bond, cash or surety. A trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 15 with another pre-trial set for Dec. 1.

Sandy A. Hill, 48, 205 W. Main St., Kalida, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7.

Oct. 30

Daniel Tijerina, 53, 930 W. Belmore St., Leipsic, pleaded guilty to stopping after accident, obstructing official business, and menacing by stalking. He faces up to 36 months in prison and $8,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10 a.m. Jan. 4, 2016. Charges of possessing criminal tools, aggravated menacing and theft were dismissed.

Tijerina is accused of pointing a revolver at Putnam County Sgt. Kevin Siefker on May 6 after Siefker attempted to serve him a summons for failing to stop after an accident. Prosecutor Gary Lammers said Siefker identified himself as a sheriff’s deputy and Tijerina opened the door with a revolver pointed at the deputy. Siefker moved back, pulled his weapon and commanded Tijerina to put down the revolver. Lammers said after a brief standoff, Tijerina put down the weapon and Siefker served the summons and left, returning the next day to arrest him. Deputies searched his home the day after the incident and found a stolen firearm.

William L. Miller, 38, 3059 County Road 80, Alger, pleaded guilty to theft (over $1,000). He faces up to 12 months in prison, and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence

Alan Dunbar, 21, 13418 Road 21, Cloverdale, pleaded guilty to attempt breaking entering, a misdemeanor. He faces up to six months in jail and $1,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set of 2:30 p.m. Dec. 7.

Nov. 5

Christopher Frey, 33, 2020 Road E, Leipsic, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs. He was given credit for 84 days served and placed on three years post release control. Frey was arrested following an investigation where Ryan Greve, 30, Glandorf, was arrested for trying to smuggle narcotics into the county jail Aug. 6 after returning from an appointment at Pathways Counseling Center.

Greve had been remanded to jail following his indictment on drug charges. After the incident, investigators executed a search warrant at 12557 Old St. Rt. 65 Ottawa. During the search, ingredients for the manufacture of methamphetamine and cocaine were found. Frey was arrested at the scene along with Robert J. Nichols, II, 30, 941 E. 11th St. Ottawa.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

Oct. 29

Markese L. Brown, 23, 1429 S. Union St., Lima, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension child support. Sentence: $100 fine.

Nov. 2

James R. Sulfridge, 36, 303 S. Second St., Continental, pleaded guilty to an amended offense of no operator’s license. Sentence: $100 fine. A charge of turn signals was dismissed.

Rosa E. Lomeli, 47, 6998 Road 7, Leipsic, pleaded no contest to no operator’s license and was found guilty. Sentence: $150 fine. She was also fined $50 for fictitious plates.

Nov. 3

Shawn M. Woolbright, 31, 18593 Road B-13, Continental, pleaded no contest to failure to reinstate and was fined costs only. He also was fined $50 for failure to display reg/expired plates $50 for no transfer/plates.

Steven P. McCarty, 25, 137 Pawnee Drive, Ottawa, pleaded no contest to driving under FRA non-compliance and was found guilty. Sentence: $250 fine. He was also fined $50 for expired registration/plates.

Nov. 5

Sara E. Storer, 38, 600 W. Sycamore St., Columbus Grove, charged with drug abuse/possession, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.
