Letter: Kreher the new leader Lima needs

Voters in Lima’s 4th Ward have a unique opportunity. A young woman, Rebecca Kreher, is one of our next generation’s leaders to step forward and run for city council. What is unique about this race is the Baby Boomers, our generation, have been proclaiming for years how we need to encourage the younger generations to stay or return to Lima so we do not encounter a “brain drain” in our community. Rebecca is an example of the success of this essential initiative to rejuvenate our community.

Rebecca Kreher has attended Lima City Council meeting for the last several years to familiarize herself with the matters facing the city. She has worked diligently with other politicians on their campaigns. Over the past several months she has made the effort to personally go door to door in the 4th Ward to listen to her constituents concerns and take note of their ideas. Rebecca has established a dialogue with Jeff Sprague, who is the President/CEO of the Allen Economic Development Group, to create a relationship that can foster an opportunity to advocate for more job creation in the city. She has acknowledged the issues created by the numerous dilapidated houses and is willing to push for more funding to have them demolished.

Our community requires a revitalizing force for the future. Rebecca Kreher has done the training to handle the position of Lima’s 4th Ward Council. Lima needs leaders like her who are passionate and unwavering in their commitment to our community in order to have a prosperous future.
