I am writing because I am feeling glad that South Carolina took down the Confederate flag from its statehouse.
I feel better because the old flag was a symbol of slavery, and slavery was very cruel. It makes me sad to think that slavery happened in America, and that’s not something to be proud of.
The old flag brought back bad memories of slavery and should not be on a statehouse. America is a country of freedom and represents liberty for all.
