ADA — A total of 14 Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in the five winter sports for 2019-20.
The women’s basketball team led all squads with five honorees. Women’s swimming and diving had four student/athletes, wrestling had two and men’s basketball and men’s swimming and diving had one each.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.5.

Women’s Basketball: Marion Local graduate Emily Mescher, Martrina Parks, Emily Brock, Wapakoneta grad Alexis Jacobs, Molly Palecak and Annie Weckesser
Women’s Swimming & Diving: Katelyn Koebel, Sydney Johnson, Karli Katterle and Lauren Shaw
Wrestling: Seth Transue and Indian Lake grad Cole Mefford

Scholar All-Americans
ADA — The National Wrestlers Coaches Association released its Top 25 Scholar All-American Teams and its Scholar All-Americans. Ohio Northern had representation for both honors.
The Polar Bears as a team owned a 3.453 team GPA, which garnered them the All-American Team honor. A quartet of individuals reeled in Scholar All-American award, as well.
Jeff Andrews, Seth Transue, Connor Kwiat and Ada grad Chase Sumner were all honored for their work in the classroom.
Northern finished the season with a 14-8 overall record, sending three to the national meet.
