TOLEDO — Lima Senior’s A.J. Bullock scored 14 points and Nakiya Sigman added eight points.

Lima Senior improves to 11-10 for the season and 7-6 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. St. Ursula falls to 11-9 and 7-6 in the TRAC.

Shawnee ranked No.1

COLUMBUS — Shawnee has joined Columbus Grove as a No. 1 team in the latest Associated Press Ohio High School Athletic Association poll released Monday.

The Indians, who own a 19-0 mark, are tied with with Akron St. Vincent St. Marys (15-4) as the top team in the Division II.

Columbus Grove remained at No. 1 in Division IV and Ottawa-Glandorf stayed at No. 3 in Division III.

South Adams 81, Parkway 55

Parkway’s Caden Slusher scored 22 points and Caleb Kinney grabbed eight rebounds.

Lima City School to hold athletic induction ceremonies

The next induction of the Lima City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame will be held Saturday with tickets to the event on sale now in the Lima Senior Athletic Office.

The Lima City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame honors teams, athletes, coaches and contributors from Lima Senior High School, Central High School and South High School. A Legacy Award has been added this year.

This will be the third class to be inducted, with a new class coming every year. The Athletic Office accepted nominations this summer and a selection committee recently made its decision.

Below are members of the new induction class:

Athletes: Bryan Andrews, Joe Clark, Randy Cooper, Deb Cousey (Allison), Saundra Treese Cummings, Deb Hebel, Dave King, Thomas J. Lentz, George McDuffie, Tommy McDuffie, Larry Nicolet, Emzer Shurelds III and Alphonso “Biggie” Townsend.

Coaches: Jim Romey, Donald Penhorwood and Paul Penn.

Teams: 1946 Central High School Football, 1962 Lima Senior High School Boys Basketball and 1963 Lima Senior High School Baseball.

Contributors: Anne E. Warren and James and Teddy Stepleton.

Inductees will first be recognized during halftime of the Friday, Feb. 14, home basketball game. Tipoff of the varsity game is at 7:30 p.m.

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Saturday at the UNOH Event Center, 1450 N. Cable Road. A reception for inductees and families will begin at 5 p.m., with the dinner and program starting at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $35 and can be purchased in the Lima Senior Athletic Office during school hours. A table can be reserved for $280. To reserve tickets, please call 419-996-3050.

ONU tracksters honored

ADA — Sophomores Nate Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) and Andrew Buderer (Oak Harbor) were named the Ohio Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts at the Hillsdale (Mich.) Wide Track Challenge on Saturday.

Dean was named the Track Athlete of the Week and Buderer was the Field Athlete of the Week.

Dean won the 200-meter dash in a school record :22.30 and was third in the 400 in :50.72.

Buderer won the pole vault by clearing a career-best 4.85 meters (15’-11”).

The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday with the All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein.
