Women’s college basketball: Ohio State falls to Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – In a game that featured nine ties and 10 lead changes, Michigan State had the final push and pulled out a 68-65 victory Thursday evening at the Breslin Center.

Four Buckeyes scored in double figures led by Aaliyah Patty with 12 points and nine rebounds. Jacy Sheldon had 11 points in the first half to give the Buckeyes a five-point edge at the break. Then in the second half, Rebeka Mikulasikova scored nine of her 11 points to help spur the Buckeye comeback. Madison Greene was the fourth Buckeye in double figures with 10 points.

Ohio State led 31-26 at the break but MSU came out of the locker room and outscored the Buckeyes 22-13 in the third quarter to take a 48-44 into the fourth. OSU kept clawing back and tied the game at 58-58 and took a pair of two point leads late in the quarter. But the Spartans scored the final five points and came away with the victory.

Nia Clouden led all scorers with 20 points and six assists.
