Bluffton defeats Wapak in boys hoops

BLUFFTON — The host Pirates improved to 8-1 on the season with a 51-46 boys high school basketball victory Tuesday night against Wapakoneta.

Luke Denecker (19), Jared Piercefield (13) and Mason Soper (10) each scored in double digits for Bluffton. Reed Merricle had 13 points and Trey Ware scored nine for the Redskins.

Minster (second), Marion Local (fourth) and Fort Recovery (10th) all made the top 10 in Division IV in the first Associated Press press poll of the season.

Ottoville came in 19th. Bath is 15th in D-II.

Delphos Jefferson 43

DELPHOS — Natalie Koenig had 22 points and Adrienne Kuhlman and Abi Lammers each scored 13 for Miller City. Addy Stewart had 11 points and Delaney Deuel scored 10 for Jefferson.

LCC 37, Coldwater 35

LIMA — Oliva Stolly scored the last three of her 15 points with 10 seconds remaining to give Lima Central Catholic (6-6) the victory. Teammate Rosie Williams scored 14. Annelise Harlamert had 14 points and Lauren Gilliland scored 11 for the visitings Cavaliers.

LEIPSIC — Marissa Hermiller and Whitney Langhals each had 15 points and Liz Scheckelhoff scored 14 for the host Vikings.

MIDDLE POINT — Grace Klausing had 14 points and McKayla Maag and Brenna Smith each scored 10 for Kalida. Kendall Bollenbocher had 11 points and Zadria King scored 10 for Lincolnview.

ST. MARYS — Kendall Dieringer had 14 points and Carly Caywood and Lauren Cisco each scored 12 for the host Roughriders. Emma Leis and Nelaya Burden each had seven points for the Bearcats.

New Knoxville 68,

Waynesfield-Goshen 29

WAYNESFIELD — Morgan Leffel had 28 points and Megan Jurosic scored 19 for New Knoxville. Rylie Barrington had 12 pionts and Jordan Elliot scored nine for W-G.
