Coach’s analysis: After having a fantastic 2019 season, the Jefferson Lady Cats are poised to send five seniors out on top. Smith, Fitch, Mueller, Buzard, and Carpenter have been such an integral part of building the girls program, and they are ready to try and three-peat as NWC champions. One negative for the team will be trying to replace graduated senior Sydnie McGue who was a two-time NWC runner-up and anchor for the team for the past three years. She was a fantastic player and will be missed. Behind the five seniors, two returning sophomores will compete for the final varsity spot. Kroeger and Ryan will be making their varsity debuts this season to help make the `Cats even more competitive. This is a tremendous group of ladies that are very hard working athletes and even better students in the classroom.

Coach’s analysis: The Lady Lancers will be inexperienced as graduation over the past three seasons has decimated the depth of the team. Four returning letter winners will be the bulk of the team scoring, but we have four new players trying out for the team this year to provide the much needed depth for the roster. Always wanting to compete in tournaments and invitationals is the main goal with the team score being in the top 50% of the field. As the season builds, become more consistant as the NWC tournament arrives as well as sectional and district tournaments. Individually, I want the players to play to their own abilities with opportunities for recognition in the invitationals, in conference play and during the golf postseason.

Coach’s analysis: The Fort Recovery Indians are very excited about this upcoming golf season. They are led by Bruns, who is a two-time first team all MAC selection and a district qualifier from a year ago. Shelby Stammen and Alli Vaughn are three-year letter winners and will secure the two and three positions for the Indians. That four spot for coach Bruns could be filled by Dues and Gaerke or by Bihn and Brunswick. Coach Bruns feels he has the talent to move up from last year’s fourth place position in the MAC.

Coach’s analysis: We have 12 girls returning from last year and 23 total, which is amazing, With five returning letter winners from last year, we have the most experience coming back since I have been here. I am hoping for big improvements from our returning players with a splash of success from some of the new faces that we have. I fully expect this year to be a fun one.

Coach’s analysis: Minster will tee off the 2020 season with six returning varsity letter winners in the lineup. Three of the six returning will be experiencing only their second year playing the sport.
The team had a nine hole match improvement of 99 strokes from the first score posted in a dual match to the last dual match of the season. As a result of their efforts Voisard was named first team All-MAC and Heuker earned honorable mention honors. All six of the returning golfers were recognized as academic All-MAC for 2019. Looking forward to the hustle and heart of the 2019 team to influence the incoming eight new team members for the 2020 season . The team is fortunate to have a full roster of golfers whom have a variety of skill levels and exposure to the game. The Lady Wildcats will primarily be focusing on building their short game skills, course management and understand the rules and etiquette of the game. As a coach my emphasis for the athletes is to get them to value the importance of “focusing on the process and not the outcome.” A well developed process will yield a positive outcome. The time and place to build your confidence for something you want to try is during practice not during competition. The Lady Wildcats will look to make noise again in the MAC and have a strong showing. The Lady Wildcats are fortunate to have Voisard returning in the number one position. Layne has spent the summer participating in the Lima junior golf league and has posted several personal bests. This season with the Covid 19 virus impacting nearly every facet of life from shopping to sports we feel like we are in a “holding pattern,” But that has not stopped the Lady Wildcats. As soon as the restrictions were lifted and the Lady Wildcats were allowed to hit the fairways … they were there. This team has heart and hustle … and they will persevere. As a coach for The Lady Wildcats I am proud to share we have advanced to
district level play 16 of 17 seasons either as a team or with individuals … and I strongly believe this team has the talent and passion to continue the streak. Minster will also have some very promising freshman golfers new to the game but very excited about learning.

Coach’s analysis: We have one returning player, Emily Clutter, who has shown herself to be a leader at practice. This is the first year for Autumn, Allison, Sarah and Addysin. This team is quite novice, but shows a lot of potential and excitement for the game. We are looking forward to growing our skills and experience this year, and getting better and better as the season progresses.

Coach’s analysis: The girls had an excellent 2019-20 season. We went 88-10 overall, 7-0 in our league, and 4-0 in regular season tournaments. They recorded the low 18- and nine-hole score for St. Henry High School, many wonderful accomplishments. The girls are ready to build on this success. They are putting time in during the offseason to get ready when the season begins in August.

Coach’s analysis: It’s difficult to win a state championship, but after winning two in a row, it will be even more difficult. All members of the 2019 state championship team are back. Although the ladies will face a difficult season schedule with mostly Division I teams, they should be prepared for a return trip to state to defend their championship.
