BOWLING GREEN – Ottoville’s Abby Siefker will miss the rest of the season for Bowling Green’s women’s basketball team because of shoulder injury, making her the fourth member of that team to suffer a season-ending injury.

Siefker, a 6-foot, 2-inch sophomore, was averaging 5.4 points and 6.3 rebounds a game as BGSU’s starting post player. She was state Division IV Player of the Year at Ottoville in 2013 and was The Lima News girls Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

A BGSU spokesman said Siefker first injured the shoulder in December and played a few games with a brace before her final game of the season Jan. 3 against Ball State. She started the first 12 games of the season.

Earlier this season, Bowling Green lost Erica Donovan, Lauren Webb and Leah Bolton to season-ending ACL injuries.

Minster’s Erica Fullenkamp, a four-year volleyball player at BGSU, has joined the basketball team, which was down to seven healthy players at one point. This is the first time she has played organized basketball since high school.

Fullenkamp, a 5-10 senior, was first-team All-Midwest Athletic Conference in basketball at Minster and was first-team All-Ohio there in volleyball.
