LIMA — “You will find the new Ford a comfortable easy riding car,” read the sales brochure for the 1929 Ford Model A Town Sedan. The Ford Model A was the second success for the Ford Motor company, after its predecessor, the Model T. The Model A replaced the Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. By February 4, 1929, one million Model As had been sold and by July 24th, two million. The range of body styles ran from the Tudor to the Town Car. The Model A was produced through 1931.
Vernon Joseph, of Lima, brought his 1929 Ford Model A Town Sedan to The Lima News’ Real Wheels Cruise-In. He has owned it for five years. He is the third owner, and the car has only 68,000 original miles. This is Joseph’s second Model A. His first one was also a 1929 bought when he was 15-years-old from $60.
