COLUMBUS GROVE — “Monte Carlo Coupe. Change? No refined,” reads the sales brochure for the 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo. The Chevy Monte Carlo was produced through six generations from 1970 to 2007. It was marketed as a personal-luxury coupe, with the last model version classified as a full-sized coupe. The car was named for the city Monte Carlo in the principality of Monaco.

Jeff Roberts, of Columbus Grove, brought his 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo to The Lima News’ Real Wheels Cruise-In. He has owned it for 15 years. His favorite memory is when he and his dad were working on it nights and weekends; painting and working on the motor and transmission. Roberts says it feels good driving it when it’s done, except, it’s never done.
