WAPAKONETA — In 2014, 44 fatal crashes out of a total of 17,827 crashes in Ohio reported distraction.

As April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Ohio State Highway Patrol wants to remind drivers to keep their eyes and focus on the roadways while driving.

While Ohio law prohibits all cellphone usage for drivers under 18, texting while driving is illegal for all drivers, and is considered a secondary offense.
