We had the distinct pleasure of attending the Elida High School musical “Beauty and The Beast” recently and what a treat it was.
The cast and crew were simply amazing. From the fog, streamers and lighted roses to the excellent performers and scenery, they certainly deserved every standing ovation they received.
Mia Hurst, as Belle, was excellent and so believable with a voice that could surpass many professional vocalists we’ve heard lately. Gaston, played by Clay Burkholder, kept the laughs coming and gave the audience a flawless performance. We especially enjoyed the part where the beast, Cory Schoonover, changed into the prince with magical proportions that lifted him into the air.
Congratulations to Mrs. Bargerstock for bringing this musical to life for us in such a wonderful way and BRAVO to the music department students who surpassed our expectations. We are indeed lucky to live in a community with so much talent.
