OREGON — Lima Senior junior Rion Thompson went over the 1,000-point plateau for her career, but that wasn’t enough for the Spartans to avoid a 75-60 loss to Oregon Clay in girls basketball Monday at Oregon.
Thompson finished with 20 points and two 3-point goals. Miea Ward added nine points and Kierre James scored eight for the Spartans.
Lima Senior is 6-4, 2-3 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. Clay is 9-1, 4-1 in the TRAC.
Haley Hess had 23 points with five 3-point goals for Clay. Hannah Hess had 20 points with four 3-point goals. Morgan Connor had 12 points.
Clay led 22-20 after the first quarter and 45-33 at the half. Clay then pulled out to a 65-47 lead after three quarters.
Girls basketball
Kalida 37, Delphos St. John’s 24
KALIDA — Kalida held Delphos St. John’s to 22 percent shooting from the field in a win over the Blue Jays.
Kalida shot 48 percent from the field. Kalida also won the boards, 24-15.
Allison Recker had 10 points for Kalida, while Jackie Gardner scored eight. Sydney Fischbach led the Blue Jays with 10 points.
Kalida outscored St. John’s 12-2 in the third quarter to take a 23-13 lead.
Ada 55, Hardin Northern 25
DOLA — Ada ran out to a 15-1 lead and coasted home to a victory over Hardin Northern.
Tori Wyss led the Bulldogs with 18 points, Alexis Amburgey scored nine.
Ada led 37-3 at the half. Ada won the boards, 29-12.
