Volunteers needed for river cleanup

LIMA — Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Ottawa River Cleanup, scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon April 25 beginning at the Allen County Red Cross building on Collett Street.

The event will send volunteers along the banks of the Ottawa River in Lima, cleaning up any debris and litter along the waterway. Volunteers of any age are welcome and are asked to wear old clothes and comfortable shoes that can get wet. A free T-shirt and lunch, as well as a certificate of participation, will be provided.

Registration can be done the day of the cleanup at the Red Cross or in advance at http://lacrpc.com. The annual cleanup is sponsored by Lima-Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership, the city of Lima, the Ottawa River Coalition and Keep Allen County Beautiful.
