Jets’ Johnson was uncooperative after shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — New York Jets running back Chris Johnson was uncooperative with deputies who responded over the weekend to a fatal shooting that left him and a friend with bullet wounds and the driver of their car dead, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office report released Monday.

The report also suggested the men may have been at a nightclub before the shooting at a stoplight in Orlando.

Chris Johnson was shot in the right shoulder when someone pulled up next to their Jeep and started firing. His friend, Reggie Johnson, was shot in the triceps and thigh. The driver, Dreekius Oricko Johnson, was wounded in the head. None of the men are related.

Lee says surgery would end season and possibly career

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee is awaiting a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews on his ailing left elbow and says surgery would end his season and possibly his career.

The 36-year-old left-hander didn’t pitch after July 31 last year because of a left flexor pronator strain.

He said his left elbow felt normal as he threw two scoreless innings Thursday against Houston in his spring training debut, but he felt discomfort the following day. An MRI on Sunday revealed “very mild inflammation,” according to general manager Ruben Amaro Jr.

Lee and the Phillies hoped to hear back from Andrews later Monday or today. Lee realizes surgery would have major ramifications on his career.

“It’d be six-to-eight months out,” Lee said Monday.
