LIMA — Betty J. Nicolet, of Lima, will celebrate her 90th birthday March 11, 2015. A family celebration will be held at a later date. Birthday cards can be sent to her c/o Primrose Retirement Community, Apt. 213, 3500 W. Elm St., Lima, OH 45807.
She was born March 11, 1925 to Walter and Marie Martin. She graduated from Lima South High School in 1943. On April 1, 1945, she married Dwight F. Nicolet. They were married nearly 70 years before he died on March 4, 2014.
Nicolet has two sons, Larry A. (Joan) Nicolet and Dan D. (Mary Lou) Nicolet. She has four grandchildren, Mark (Meagan) Nicolet, Mindy Nicolet (Michael) Moon, Molly (fiance Brian Tuminillo) Nicolet and Jessica Nicolet. She has step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren in Texas.
She is a retired legal secretary, a member of South Side Christian Church, a 70 year member of Alpha Theta Sisters, a 66 year member of “The Pinochle Gang,” and several Bridge clubs.
Nicolet was crowned, “Miss Primrose” in 2014 and continues to enjoy life with her many friends at Primrose Retirement Community of Lima.
