Celina, Coldwater divers win district crowns

BOWLING GREEN — Sawyer Weitzel of Celina and Caleb Keck of Coldwater won diving titles at the Northwest Ohio district meet Wednesday.

Weitzel finished with an 11-dive total of 442.05 points. Madison Taylor of St. Marys was third (391.05), Shannon Osterfeld of Coldwater was seventh (369.5), Brooke Steinbrunner of Celina was 10th (347.5) and Allison Sandberg of St. Marys finished 12th (336.75). According to the OHSAA.org website, the top nine automatically qualify for the state meet. Those finishing in the top 16 earned points for their teams.

Keck finished with 475.8 points. Chandler Kimmel of Celina was was fifth (415.4), Brock Fletcher of Shawnee was seventh (396.2), Jake Browder of Celina was eighth (382.55) and Trent Basinger of Ottawa-Glandorf was 16th (285.65).

The Division II swim competition is scheduled to be held Friday at Cooper Natatorium on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The Division I swimmers will compete Saturday at the same venue. The competition is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. both days. For more information go to OHSAA.org.

Girls basketball

The Perry at Spencerville JV and varsity games will be played Friday with the junior varsity game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
