Nadler sets Gannon career passing record as junior

Leipsic’s Liam Nadler, a junior at Gannon University, broke the school record for career passing yards this fall during an 8-2 season.

Nadler threw for 2,750 yards and 21 touchdowns with only four interceptions this season. That gave him 8,519 career passing yards with another season of eligibility left. He also rushed for 386 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Ellie Braidic, a Pandora-Gilboa graduate, has a personal season-best effort of 13 feet, 1.5 inches in the pole vault for Eastern Michigan University’s women’s track team.

The career best for the former state champion is 13 feet, 5 ¼ inches in the 2014 Mid-American Conference meet.

Marcus Reineke, a 6-foot, 2-inch senior guard from New Knoxville, leads Cedarville University’s men’s basketball team in scoring at 17.8 points a game. He is shooting 44 percent on 3-point shots (59 of 134) and 92 percent on free throws (70 of 76).

Reineke has 1,289 points in his college career.

Shari Mangas, a 5-foot, 6-inch senior guard from Leipsic, is averaging 8.0 points a game for Baldwin-Wallace’s women’s basketball team.

She leads the team in free throw percentage 90.6 percent (29 of 32).

Andy Hoying, a 6-foot, 5-inch junior forward from Jackson Center, has started 20 of 22 games and is averaging 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds a game for Mercyhurt University’s men’s basketball team.

Jake Bagley, a senior forward from Van Wert, is averaging 5.8 points and 4.2 rebounds a game for Trine University. He has started 16 of 21 games.
