ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Police Department quickly caught up with an alleged thief after finding undisclosed evidence at the scene.
The Police Department received a call at about 9 a.m. Sunday from the Veterans of Foreign Wars post on East Spring Street reporting that the building had been broken into. Officers were able to determine that there was forced entry into the building.
Through the evaluation of evidence at the scene, officers were able to develop a suspect and just a few hours later executed an arrest warrant at 830 E. Spring St. Nathan Thomas, 28, was arrested and incarcerated in the Auglaize County Jail on charges of breaking and entering and theft.
The VFW was still in the process of determining its losses late Monday.
