CLEVELAND (AP) — Officials say a 46-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority bus while attempting to cross Interstate 90.
The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-90 between West 117th and West 140th Street on Thursday afternoon.
Police say their preliminary investigation found that the victim, who wasn't identified, was trying to cross the highway after his car broke down.
RTA spokeswoman Linda Krecic says no passengers were on the bus and the driver was not injured. The No. 55 bus had just left the Triskett bus garage to begin its route.
A statement released by the RTA said transit officials are keeping the man's family in their prayers.
