PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say two more Ohio men have died after their van was hit by a truck in the Florida Panhandle.
The Panama City News Herald (https://goo.gl/gB5HEI) reports that 29-year-old William Gouge II and 33-year-old Josh Martin both died late Sunday. A Florida Highway Patrol release says 25-year-old Eric Anthony Young and 30-year-old Anthony Gouge previously died at the scene of the early Saturday morning crash. Another passenger remained in critical condition.
The men had been in town to play in the World Sports League World Softball Championships. Authorities say 21-year-old Cody Austin Shirah was driving a pickup truck and failed to stop at a stop sign when he then collided into the right side of the van. Shirah and his passenger both sustained serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol says it's investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
