Ohio brewing equipment maker tripling manufacturing space

CANTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio maker of craft brewing equipment is tripling its manufacturing capabilities and hiring new employees.

The Canton Repository reports (http://bit.ly/2bMcmKI ) that SysTech Stainless Works is relocating and expanding its fabrication shop next month.

The move will allow the maker of fermenters, bright tanks and other equipment to accommodate more workers and build bigger brewing systems. Its current location will become a homebrew retail shop.

A new Ohio law scraps caps on alcohol content for beer. The state is following the lead of other states in getting rid of its 12 percent cap that has been on the books since just after Prohibition.

Ohio craft brewers made nearly 1.39 million gallons of beer last year, the fourth most of any state. The state is home to 143 craft breweries.
