DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say an autopsy of a 4-month-old boy didn't reveal anything suspicious after the infant was found dead at a Dayton homeless shelter and his father arrested when he confronted officers who were investigating.
The infant was reported dead early Thursday morning at the shelter where the family was staying.
The Dayton Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/2ccBDLH ) the Montgomery County coroner's office found no signs of foul play, but it could take weeks to determine a cause of death. The boy has a twin sister who is hospitalized.
Police allege the children's 23-year-old father became uncooperative, punched an officer and was taken into custody outside the shelter. He was jailed on charges that included assault on an officer and obstructing official business. He isn't charged in connection with his son's death.
