CINCINNATI (AP) — A woman whose 4-year-old daughter died several days after she was found unresponsive in the bathroom of their home has been charged with murder.
A judge in Cincinnati set a $2 million bond Thursday for 24-year-old Britney Mayes. The Cincinnati woman is charged with killing her daughter, Avery. The girl died Aug. 1, three days after she was found unresponsive and taken to a hospital.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office ruled the death a homicide.
Mayes' attorney Bradley Fox said Thursday he'd just started to review the case and had no comment.
A prosecutor told the judge that Mayes was sentenced to six months in prison in 2012 after pleading guilty to a child endangerment charge.
