Coach: Matt Tabler

Years, career record: 9, 117-85

Division: IV

Last year: 22-4, 7-0 NWCC (champs)

Returning letterwinners (* returning starter): Jakoby Lane-Harvey* (Sr., 6-0, point guard); Plummie Gardner* (Sr., 5-10, guard), Kobe Glover* (Sr., 6-4, wing); Orion Monford* (Sr., 6-1, guard); Lamonte’ Nichols (Sr., 6-3)

Promising newcomers: Jamal Whiteside (So., 5-9); Logan Dray (Jr., 5-8); Louis Hoersten (So., 6-0); Luke Floyd (Jr., 5-9)

Team outlook: The Commodores won the Northwest Central Conference back-to-back years now and advanced to their first-ever basketball regional last year. With NWCC player of the year Jakoby Lane-Harvey (16 points and seven assists per game) and first-team pick Plummie Gardner (12 points per game) back for Perry, the sky could be the limit this season. “In order for this year’s team to be successful, they must find a defensive stopper and develop a bench that will p[rovide the depth needed to play uptempo and pressure for 32 minutes,” coach Matt Tabler said.
