• Coldwater: The Cavs will miss MAC Player of the Year Andy Brunet, but first-teamer Dylan Thobe is back for Coldwater and new coach Nick Fisher, who grew up in Coldwater and wants to see his motion offense and man defense thrive despite a late start due to the football team’s playoff success.

• Fort Recovery: The Indians hope to build on last year’s 16-7, 6-3 MAC finish. The return of first-teamer Miciah Cox, a 6-5 senior forward, and honorable mention Caleb Martin should help, although coach Chris Guggenbiller did lose three all-league players to graduation.

• Marion Local: The Flyers got a late start thanks to the football team’s success, but they know they have three seniors (Ryan Thobe, Kyle Koenig and Matt Kahlig) as a starting point to go with junior forward Tyler Mescher, a first-team all-conference pick last year when the Flyers went 11-12, 5-4 MAC.

• Parkway: Doug Hughes is back at the helm after five years away from Parkway. He has five lettermen and two starters back, including 6-4 senior center Justin Barna, who averages 8.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game during 2015-16’s 3-20, 0-9 MAC campaign.

• St. Henry: The Redskins are very inexperienced, with their two returning starters combining for just 7.5 points per game back from last year’s 18-7, 7-2 second-place finish in the MAC. They’ll look to their three seniors to help them become a tough, physical basketball team.

• Versailles: Most coaches have 2015-16 league champ Versailles picked as the team to beat again this year. The Tigers have four starters back, including first-teamer Justin Ahrens as a junior and second-teamer Alex Wendel and honorable mention pick Austin Knapke as seniors.
