BLUFFTON — The hosts split a softball doubleheader with Olivet on Friday. The Beavers fell 9-5 but rebounded for a 3-2 victory. Ariana Muffo had three doubles in the two games and teammate Chelsea Weitz hit a home run.

ONU swept


ADA — Adriana Sikora paced Ohio Northern in its Game 1 14-12 loss, going 4-for-4, driving in four runs and blasting her team-leading fifth homer of the season as the Polar Bears dropped both contests of a double header against Alma (Mich.) at the ONU Softball Field.


Game 2 was called after six innings due to darkness, with the Scots holding a 6-3 lead. Christin Miller and Sikora each collected two hits in the game.

ONU swimmer


14th at nationals


INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio Northern’s Jordan Breitigam finished sixth in the 200 butterfly consolation finals Friday night and 14th out of 33 swimmers overall in 1:50.37 at the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium.


He is now a three-time Honorable Mention All-American in the 200 butterfly, finishing ninth last year in 1:47.46 and finishing 13th at the 2012 NCAA III Championships.


His preliminary heat time of 1:49.90 Friday afternoon got him into the consolation finals.
