ADA — A balanced offensive attack helped propel Ohio Northern to a 88-85 victory on Senior Day against Capital on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.


The Polar Bears improved to 16-9 on the season and 12-6 in Ohio Athletic Conference play and ran their winning streak to six games, while the Crusaders fell to 12-13, 9-9.


Ten different ONU players scored in the game with four scoring in double figures.


The Polar Bear attack was led by junior Isaiah Roux’s 13 points and five assists.


Senior Dominique Royal chipped in 12 points, senior Branden Rushton recorded 11 points and junior Lucas Pennington added 10 points for ONU.


The Polar Bears clinched the fourth seed in next week’s OAC Tournament.


“Tonight was a great team win,” said head coach Kevin Byrne. ” Everyone we put in contributed to the game. It was nice to get our seniors a win today and we are looking forward to some good OAC basketball Tuesday night.”


Ohio Northern got a huge lift from its bench as the reserves poured in 33 points on the day.


ONU led 84-82 with 17 seconds remaining in the game when Royal made a layup on a pass from Roux to put ONU ahead 86-82 with eight seconds remaining.


UNOH 70, Madonna 57


LIMA - The University of Northwestern Ohio improved to 21-7 on the season and 17-5 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.


Bluffton 72, Transylvania 60


BLUFFTON - Will Pope had 19 points and eight rebounds and Ryan Ebbeskotte had 16 points and eight assists for the Beavers who improved to 10-15 overall and 6-12 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.


Georgetown 74, Xavier 52


WASHINGTON — Markel Starks scored 22 points and guided an efficient Georgetown offense, which shot 52 percent from the floor, as the Hoyas (16-11, 7-8 Big East) beat Xavier (18-9, 8-6)..


Dayton 57, Duquesne 54


PITTSBURGH — Jordan Sibert scored 18 points as Dayton (19-8, 7-5 Atlantic 10) used a big second-half rally for the win at Duquesne (11-15, 3-10).
